With video game graphics getting more and more realistic, it's always nice to see different ways in-engine footage can be used in marketting.
For Breakpoint, the new game in Ubisoft's Ghost Recon franchise, DDB Paris has created Big Bad Wolves, five fun films using children's fairy tales as the basis for tactical tips. However, what marks them out isn't the incredible gameplay footage used to demonstrate, but the toontastic animated 'masks' applied over it.
Realised by Blinkink animation studio and directors Stevie Gee and Essy May, the overlay not only adds an essense of cartoonish joy to otherwise serious images, but also manages to enhance the believability of the source footage due to the contrast.
