TK Maxx’s lightbulb moment
OK, maybe you already knew the big-brand, low-price retailer had a website – but that doesn’t detract from this commercial’s charm one iota.

In a spectacularly hyper-real, glitter-strewn 30-second spot, a young woman and her chums are blown away by the discovery that you can shop at TK Maxx online. In fact, it comes as such a shock, all they can do is repeat the phrase: “TK Maxx has a website!”
Created by Wieden+Kennedy London and directed by Lou Escobar through CANADA/UK, the ad boasts a distorted soundtrack and echoey theme tune – Snaeha (‘Love’) by 1960s Cambodian singer Pen Ran – and cast of bizarre, late-night-diner characters. tkmaxx.com is ever so slightly unnerving but also hilarious and a real visual treat.
