Inspired by the three elements of its iconic Trefoil logo, this nostalgic and stylish campaign for sportswear brand Adidas features three films by three directors, each paying homage to the athletes, skaters, musicians and fashion innovators who have carried its most famous sneakers from their humble beginnings to the present day.
First up, Love Song production studio’s Daniel Wolfe lends his creative eye to the Superstar trainer. Built for basketball, but adopted by Hip Hop, Wolfe's film charts its journey from court icon to cultural powerhouse, including a cameo from famed Hip-Hop group RUN DMC who shook the world wearing the Shell Toe.
Next, self-taught moving image maker Will Dohrn tells the story of the iconic Gazelle trainer through the lens of a young protagonist who moves across eras – dressed in archival Adidas apparel, true to the timeline – meeting pro-skate duo Mike Arnold and Miles Silvas along the way.
