After taking on the rom-com in its wonderful Christmas outing, supermarket chain Waitrose has set its sights on a different cinematic genre for 2026's brand campaign: sci-fi.
In The Gastronaut, Wonderhood Studios has taken culinary desire to the next level, setting the majority of the spot on a lonely space station, in which a hungry inhabitant has nothing but tasty memories and gross-looking paste to sate his craving.
Directed by Tom Speers through SMUGGLER, with some lovely FX work by Untold Studios and a laugh-inducing choice of soundtrack, this (literally) high-concept spot shows that even rocketmen need more than 'fuel'.
