Research has shown that men tend to not recognise their own suffering, and have difficulty expressing it, sometimes until it's too late.
They also can experience a greater sense of shame than women about having psychological problems.
This sensitive new spot, Reading Minds, created by Belgium agency Lucy and directed by Jara Moravec through Hamlet, depicts two scenarios, a man who feels unable to express his sadness and his companion who feels uncomfortable asking if his friend is OK.
VLESP’s campaign has a dual purpose – to not only urge men to seek help, but also to encourage anyone close to someone they think is not alright, to just ask.
