"Well socket to me baby that’s a massive peripheral!" One might say on witnessing the journey of giant AC power paraphernalia.
Luckily the characters in this ad don’t resort to such lame puns as they either gaze on in bewilderment at – or completely fail to spot – a lorry transporting a massive three-pronged wall plug.
Raising awareness of the largest overhaul of the UK electricity grid in generations, the campaign was developed for The National Grid in partnership with M&C Saatchi UK and features a humorous film directed by Tony Barry at Knucklehead.
Fittingly, the Great Grid Upgrade is a big deal that showcases the National Grid’s commitment to decarbonising the UK grid. It will bring a range of benefits – delivering more clean, secure energy from where it’s generated – like out in the North Sea by wind turbines – to where its needed most by UK homes and businesses, boosting energy security, affordability and helping the nation become more self-sufficient.
