Škoda has manoeuvred a smart move by placing petite posters in urban parking lots around Sweden, thus enabling them to reach drivers of other brands through their rear-view camera and in-car info displays.
Devised by agency Nord DDB, with a film directed by Julius Hayes, the campaign features lovingly crafted billboards that appear to drivers when they most often have their eyes on the screen – while reversing into a parking space.
The small billboards were created by Swedish miniature artist Christopher Robin Nordström (above), also known as @TokyoBuild, together with accompanying miniature metropolitan worlds, complete with diddy architecture, spotlights, ladders and graffiti.
The posters’ tagline, ‘look, we got in your car, now get in ours’ highlights Skoda’s ‘carjacking’ of competing motors, while the film ends with a cheeky “thank you, competitors, for the ad space”.
