At a time when many are readying their homes for the upcoming festivities, 131,000 children in the UK will be in unsatisfactory temporary accommodation at Christmas – that’s an increase of 10,000 since last year.
To highlight the plight of homeless families, London agency Don’t Panic and SMUGGLER have created a moving festive campaign for Shelter.
Titled Good as Gold, the sensitively directed film was informed by the lived experiences of homeless people and shows one child’s mission to make her Christmas wish come true.
Opening like a typical feel-good yuletide TVC, it follows the little girl embarking on various good turns and acts of generosity, believing she will be rewarded by Santa with the one thing she wants the most – a home. The poignant ad ends with a call out to donate to Shelter.
