Directed by Camille Summers-Valli, this exciting and contemporary music video marks multi-passionate artist, dancer, and performer Mette’s emergence into the music industry with her new song, Mama's Eyes.
The film splices together artistic shots of Mette performing with culturally referential footage of growth, mothering, justice, and celebration, which grow increasingly more personal as the song continues.
By the first chorus, we see that amongst the clips is footage of young Mette in home videos with her mother. Running counter to stereotypical imagery of mothering, Summers-Valli matches Mette’s choreography and lyrics with old Hollywood dance films, wild animals, and an array of protests.
