Dressed in Fifth Element-style cutout white outfits and vibrant pink hair, Parris Goebel’s new Yummy dance routine is full of athleticism and sex appeal.
The original Yummy music video by Justin Bieber was a lush, sumptuously produced fine dining extravaganza, but this film by Goebel is an incredible display of coordination, exacting dance moves, and a deliberate glare towards the camera. The force of the music video comes from the excellence of the dancers and the way the camera emphasizes power and strength over objectifying the women involved.
With slick production from Luti Media rendered in a bare environment, the dancers command all our attention. There are interesting cuts and camera movements as well, with long, drawn-out pans over the dancers, a birds-eye view of the performing phalanx, and Yummy's electric dance number is a fantastic display of both Goebel’s talents as a choreographer and a director.
