Created for Aldi France by TBWA Paris, and directed by Antoine de Bary through ICONOCLAST, Christmas before Christmas follows a rather sassy Santa preparing to entertain his family at home rather than schlepp about delivering presents.
Though he's a universal symbol of generosity, this year it seems Santa wants a spot of me-time, as well as a leisurely meal with loved ones on the night before Christmas.
This means he has to do the sleigh thing a day early, something that the kids are happy with. It also means he gets to enjoy a stroll around Aldi's aisles choosing goodies for his festive table.
The film offers an unusual insight into the little-known, surprisingly stylish private life of everyone's favourite seasonal red-suited gift dispenser.
