On the whole, the thing about cardboard is it’s just so… cardboardy, so unrelentingly beige.
Not much to say about it really. Unless of course, you get some Amsterdam-based paper artist, AJ Smith (also known as Papersmith) to fashion it into a charming mini-ecosystem of buildings, forestry, people, and wildlife.
AJ Smith’s designs have been beautifully animated by Glassworks Creative Studio to create a video, Small World, that showcases the ingenuity of the make-it-yourself cardboard collection – especially when viewed through eyes of a child at play.
All the designs are available in downloadable blueprint versions so anyone wanting to get involved in repurposing Samsung’s Eco-Packaging can get involved.
After a year’s worth of quarantine-imposed takeout orders, online shopping packages, and DIY boxes, etc, there’s a heck of a lot of cardboard waste around that needs processing and the campaign was launched to support last Saturday’s World Environment Day, which this year focused on reimagining, recreating, and restoring our environment.
