The struggles of those leaving prison and attempting to find a job are brought to heartbreaking, powerful light in Birth director Rafa Damy's moving new short.
Created in collaboration with employment agency Responsa, through creative agency Propeg and production company Santeria, Second Chance tells the true story of Rodolfo Maturana, a detainee that served time for car theft in Brazil and struggled to find employment afterwards.
Told through a deliberately broken narrative (containing a lovely twist in the tale), Damy's film utilises its expressive central actor and some authentic-feeling moments of intimacy and despair to create a fable that sticks in the mind.
