It's rare that a brand will actively intimate at the apocalyptic implications of its products, but Philco seems to be doing just that in this cinematic, intentionally silly spot.
Following a man as he worries about a potential automated time ahead, Un futuro en el que podés confiar(A future you can trust) balances Black MIrror-esque prophecy with in-character tech demos, resulting in one of the most audacious (and hilarious) product guarantees we've ever seen.
Created through Argentinean independent agency Don and directed by REBOLUCION's Watta Fernández and Álvaro Stocker, the campaign's enjoyable premise is sold wholesale by some brilliant production design, performances and tonal construction.
“When the brief arrived there was a line that said something like ‘Predicta brings the technology of the future to the present’," comments Rafa Quijano and Daro González, General Creative Directors at Don. "At the time it felt a bit trite, but there was something we liked.
"We started thinking about all the movies and series that made apocalyptic predictions about technology in the future that we had seen - Terminator, The Matrix, Black Mirror. This is how the idea of the guarantee appeared, something so absurd and so simple, that we loved it. Then it was finding the best way to tell it”.
