Created by Hard Work Club and directed by Henry Scholfield through Spy Films, DoorDash Canada’s new campaign uses stylish design and a mix of practical and digital effects to tell one story in three acts.
The tale kicks off with a family catapulted into a birthday do disaster when a misfired slingshot ends up laying waste to the cake.
Part two sees a DoorDash merchant come to the rescue and the third part features a dancing Dasher with the speedy solution.
All of the action takes place on a fantastical stage-like set, with a series of revolving and sliding platforms. Both sets and actors remain in constant balletic motion throughout the spots, with the actors movements designed by choreographers Keone and Mari Madrid.
The routines are given extra zest by the soundtrack – updates to Sam & Dave’s 60s soul classic Hold On, I’m Coming.
