Taking the truism of the different ways wanderlust can manifest itself in everyday life and running with it, Publicis•Poke's restrained yet resonant campaign for P&O sees a series of people longing for the ocean.
Directed by Academy's Si & Ad, To the Sea's strength lies in some delightful casting and subtle shot-construction, conjuring dreams of travel from the most mundane of scenarios.
“Travel has become pre-packaged, reduced to cost and time efficiency," comments Dave Monk, Executive Creative Director at Publicis•Poke. "We often sacrifice what’s fulfilling for what’s familiar. We’ve lost the essence of travel – which is the feeling of exploring.
"Our mission with the campaign is to help people to reconnect with their inner explorer. No endless queues or wasted time standing in crowded spaces. No sitting in the same seat for hours, staring at a tiny screen (we’ve done enough of that). No more picking essentials to pack in a clear plastic bag. No more booking months in advance, and not being able to change plans.
"P&O truly helps people to break free from the restrictions of travel, and that’s never been more important than it is now.”
