Charlie Inman, Director at Mother London and Creative Director of Mindshine, starts the day with some samba and hits the dance floor to some inappropriate dad dancing as he reveals what's on his Elements Music's Isolation Radio Station playlist.
What's the song you've listened to most during this isolation period?
It’s an irrepressibly happy samba called O Meu Lugar, by Arlindo Cruz. I play it on the guitar to my baby daughter every morning to get it locked into my memory when we get up (at 5.30am), and then I stick it on the speakers after that, and we have a bit of a dance around the kitchen together.
It just makes me super happy every time I hear it. It could be the perfect samba. He’s basically banging on about how ace his neighbourhood is, like they do in hip-hop songs. There’s little bars on every corner, everyone likes dancing, there’s beer to “comemorar” etc. etc... all wrapped up with a big chorus singalong of "laia la laia la laia laiaaaa”. Lovely stuff. Never fails to make us smile.
What track always gets you on the dance floor?
That’s a tough one. I’m going to have to go for Simon Says, by Pharoe Monch. I'm pretty sure I’ve never not danced when that song comes on. And probably shouted along as well. It’s just so gloriously inappropriate in every way. A dad in his forties going “put your hands to the sky. Blap blap blap blap”. I just can’t help myself. Yeeeeeahhhhhhhh!

What's your 'guilty pleasure' track?
Maybe Ante Up by MOP [below]. A song about robbing people at gunpoint. Not very nice at all. But it’s so good! Like Chris Rock said, hip-hop is pretty hard to justify sometimes.
What song always makes you turn off the stereo when it comes on?
Random bits of voiceover from film projects which somehow manage to get double tapped and imported into my iTunes and then show up on shuffle.
