Highlighting the very real skin conditions that are a part of everyday life is a different tack for a skincare product.
Instead of showing results or celebrating flawless skin, BETC and La Roche-Posay instead have decided to feature people who are intended to use their product. As a way of celebrating flaws, each person gets time to look directly into the camera, zits and all. Then, at the end of When We Look At Skin, We See People, they’re dancing, and living, and just being normal people.
That’s the strength of this; a piece that celebrates people as they are, without judgment. Nobody wants to feel bad in their own skin, after all. With unsentimental direction from Caviar's Lucy Luscombe takes a simple premise and turns it empowering, a refreshing, honest take that feels genuine.
