Directors Joost Biesheuvel and Joost Van Deijzen have created this intriguing and visually striking promo through Curate Films to accompany Dutch rapper Nnelg’s song Zelfkennis, which translates to Self Knowledge.
The film opens with three mysterious men adorned in white robes carrying a large white cube, the curious cargo glowing in stark contrast with the dark of the night that surrounds them.
Combining artistic, monochrome imagery of tessellating patterns and geometric brutalist buildings, the promo continues to depict the rapper in a variety of locations on a journey of self discovery, playing chess against himself and facing himself in the mirror as his reflection multiplies behind him.
