Slo-mo images of fluttering petals, droplets of essential essences, murmurings of destiny, the whispery VO randomly switches to French – so far, so perfume ad, in this fun spot created for Nissan by Dark Horses and produced by Concept 80.
With its drivers Oliver Rowland and Sacha Fenestraz, respectively scoring six podiums and holding the fastest lap in the history of Formula E, Nissan is feeling confident.
To signal to its rivals that it's a force to be reckoned, it has created an actual scent, Smell My Dust, with a cheeky ad that brings a welcome touch of humour to the serious sport of motor racing.
The perfume is a mix of cherry blossom – a nod to Nissan’s Japanese heritage – and the less commonly used fragrance note of tyre rubber, which the drivers burn as they leave their competitors in the dust.
