Mornings. They're not for everyone. But, when you wake up rested on the right side of the bed, they can put a spring in your step.
Such is the feeling conveyed in Le Coq, the hero commercial for eve directed by Peter Sluszka from New York-based Hornet Animations, in which a cockerel wakes up feeling so amazing that he breaks out into a dramatic yodel [in actuality Hocus Pocus by Focus] rather than the expected grating crow.
Created by adam&eveDDB, the spot marks a strategic shift for the sleep wellness brand and its first major branding push in France, part of their new advertising platform La Vie En Jaune (Life In Yellow).
As a standalone commercial, Le Coq makes quite an impact; the gorgeous animation peppered with lovely touches and character beats.
