Two things follow inexorably when a teenager decides to learn the guitar: firstly, their bedroom walls will be plastered with posters of their idols.
Secondly, they're going to annoy the hell out of neighbours, parents and siblings with their attempts to master the Hendrix Chord.
So what if the former could be a solution to the latter? Well, that's the idea behind a cool new campaign for Rolling Stone Brasil, created by Y&R Brazil (part of VMLY&R Group), which literally turns band posters into a sound-insulating layer.
Crafted by Focus Cinematography, Soundproof Posters are a series of posters made of acoustic foam coated with fireproof resin and fibreglass, which are capable of absorbing the most ear-splitting of riffs.
Each of the four poster designs, created using a custom-developed production technique, pays tribute to a legendary guitarist, including Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones' Keith Richards, Ozzie Osbourne's lead guitarist Zakk Wylde, and Brazilian rocker Kiko.
Launching across Rolling Stone Brasil' social media platforms, the campaign invited followers to post their best riffs using the hashtag #SoundproofPoster on Instagram, with the best ones winning a set of posters. Rock on...
