- Lyrics Fito Paez
A cancer diagnosis is one of the most devastating messages to receive. A cancer diagnosis in a child, even more so.
But, as this powerful film from Fundación Peruana de Cáncer and agency Fahrenheit DDB goes to show, the heartbreaking journey towards recovery can be stalled by a devastating 'cancer' of another sort: the inability for many to find necessary treatment.
Telling the story of a woman desperately trying to take her daughter to a specialised unit, Cancer Before Cancer, highlights many Peruvians' difficulties in merely getting to their destination.
Backed by an affecting, haunting rendition of Fito Paez's I Come to Offer My Heart, performed a cappella by the famous Peruvian singer Susana Baca and donated to the project due to its important message, the poignant film is brilliantly captured by Rebeca Producciones' Roddy Dextre; giving the tale and its protagonists a broad canvas on which to state their message.
