Believe it or not, every four minutes, someone on parole and probation in the US is put behind bars for a technical violation; things that most of us do often and without a second thought, like crossing state lines or going out past 9pm.
In an attempt to draw attention to the inhumanity of this fact, the REFORM Alliance and Droga5 have created Technically Illegal, a powerful and engaging film that shows just how many things most people take for granted are considered violations for those in the system.
The film, beautifully captured by Little Minx's Malik Sayeed, is part of a wider Give Life Back platform, setting out to change hearts and minds around the issue by eliciting compassion with those affected, and showing how technical violations rob weeks, months and even years from people’s lives.
