This two-minute-plus campaign for Doritos Mexico, called The Best Gift, marks the start of a year-long diversity platform from which the brand will be sharing LGBT+ communications over the course of 2021.
This spot, created by Slap Buenos Airesand directed by Nico Perez Veiga through Primo Mexico, is based on a real story about a divorced father who discovers his son is gay but doesn’t know how to face the situation. So, he asks for help on a Reddit Forum, obtaining more than 60,000 answers from the online community.
Since its first edition in 2016, Doritos Rainbow has been a platform to back the LGBT+ community and their families, and it has done so through donations and workshops to provide guidance and moral support. It’s in the shared stories by consumers where Doritos finds its inspiration to create the #PrideAllYear platform. “Were’ really proud of the accomplishments that have been achieved with Doritos Rainbow," said Eduardo Córdoba, Marketing Director at Doritos México, "and we believe the moment is right to show that our commitment extends beyond a proud celebration every June.”
