This new promo from Czar Brussels director Álex Orma is a mix of deadly beats and deadlier dancing.
Featuring a ‘dancing plague’ that takes hold of the residents of Brussels, the unusual virus starts with a bad cough and turns into uncontrollable, zombie-like spasms, and Orma says his reference was the Black Death of 16th century.
The clip is also a tribute to the patchwork, urban landscape that is Brussels, with its "decrepit, neon-lit alleys all populated by different cultures," as the inspiration for the set. The visual language is inspired by documentary cinema, using very little machinery, natural light and a hand-held camera to, say's Orma, "obtain a raw image that makes an incoherent universe realistic."
