Full of neon-nostalgia and markers of the skater and punk subgenre generations of the 80s and 90s, Open Show celebrates modern inspiration.
Bright animations, smooth transitions, and relatable moments give Open Show a sense of nostalgia and appreciation. Without spending too much time in the past, this short film from the Ciclope Festival honors the obsession and artistry of kids, young adults, and the creators of the past generations. The details in the piece are great, from the Mighty Ducks gear to a Wu-Tang Clan hoodie, creating a sense of what was important to an entire generation of urban American kids.
The collective coming-of-age story was produced by Final Frontier and animated by Le Cube, showcasing small stories of friends, flirting, and other markers of growing up as Millennial artists.
