Playing with sound design and scale, Limited Edition celebrates the craft of both brand name products and the ad industry.
In a conceptually simple ad, an under-sized lab crafts adidas shoes and a Prada bag. Although the products created are life-sized, the lab-slash-office where they are carefully stitched and sewn together barely fits the hand that builds the leather goods. Limited Edition is engaging and fun to watch, as the juxtaposition of scale gives the piece a lot of visual interest and surprise.
The production company, Academy, has crafted a life-size show in a miniature office space, stylized and made fun. The film ends with a short zoom-out that shows the set design and stage build of the off-kilter factory lab, a jaunty wink to the structures made for the ad itself.
