The award-winning director has created a powerful commentary on the toxicity of the looks-obsessed culture that is plaguing the youth of today.
Produced by SMUGGLER/London, the music video visualises children and young adults as vacant zombies staring into their phones and mirrors, reflecting back on us the dangerous influence of influencer culture and social media.
Focusing on themes of self-doubt, bullying and body dysmorphia, it depicts various characters toying with makeup, pills and plastic surgery until, as the emotions in the song build to a crescendo, they scream out of their inward-facing lives and discover where the real beauty is – within their natural selves and the great outdoors.
Look out for shots upcoming interview with Burgess about the making of Beautiful.
