This lighthearted piece from agency Alfred International is rich with historical design and fun anachronisms.
Based on the Affligem origin story, the ad shows a group of knights who decide to stop their crusades in order to settle down, join the priesthood, and start a brewery. While the facts may be questionable at this point, Make Beer, Not War, is a rallying cry a lot of people can get behind.
Directed by Bart Timmer of Czar Amsterdam, the piece was created while undergoing strict Covid controls and came out looking as if the plague had never happened...or was only about three hundred years in the future.
