"Biscay, Cromarty, Dogger, Fair Isle, Fastnet and German Bight." Which landlubbers among us hasn’t felt extra cosy, dry and warm, while drifting off to the sound of the romantic names of the coastal areas listed in BBC Radio 4’s iconic Shipping Forecast?

Titled Need a Good Sleep?, this charming animation was produced by Atime Works to promote the BBC’s ASMR podcast The Sleeping Forecast, a snoozy blend of soothing classical and ambient tunes mixed with excerpts of the much-loved maritime service.

As it’s the 100th anniversary of The Shipping Forecast, there are nautical easter eggs throughout for the canny viewer.

Produced by the Met Office for the UK's Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), the Shipping Forecast was originally called Weather Shipping when it was launched in January 1924 to promote safety at sea.

See The Sleeping Forecast BTS video below for the glimpse at the craft behind the magic.
