This playful music video for British rapper Bawo’s new track, Terra Incognita, sees the artist embark on an Indiana-Jones-style quest through London in search of a phone charger.
Directed by Bawo’s long-term collaborator, LAUZZA, through Compulsory, the film opens with the rapper and his partner stepping off a bus on a typically gloomy day in London, when his phone dies, leaving them stranded in the rain without directions.
The drizzly streets suddenly transform into a fantastical, fairy-tale world, and they embark on an arduous quest through magical forests, mountains, temples and underwater caves to find a sacred phone charger.
LAUZZA’s endearingly simply, picture-book style visuals and green-screen scenery bring the magical world to life, packed with playful references to London, such as an overgrown Dagenham Heathway Station bus stop, and animations of antique maps illustrating their route through the ancient city.
