Everybody has to start somewhere and this touching portrait of two celebs in the worlds of sport and music follows their stories backwards to the purchases that set them on the path to success.

Sensitively directed by Mohamed El Zayat through Rhino & Oxpecker, the sweet film Beginnings, was created for Mastercard Middle East and North Africa by FP7 McCann Cairo

It features Amir Eid, front man of Cairokee, one of the Middle East’s biggest rock bands, and Mayar Sherif – the first Egyptian woman to make it to the top 100 ranking in tennis.

Following the ups and downs of their careers, from present glories back to tentative beginnings, the film ends by showing their childhood interests in tennis/music, when encouraging parents bought that all-important first guitar/racket.

The film is enhanced by classy cinematography from Ahmed Tahoun and sound design by Khaled Hamdy and lands with the wise entreaty to 'start something priceless'.
