Is she turning ‘big girls into pros’, is she ‘getting groupies at her shows’? Hell yeah, the rumours are true and – some of us – love her all the more for it.

Teaming up with fellow A-lister Cardi B, the Grammy-winning singer’s blistering attack on the online rumour mill and body-shaming that has previously ground her down is well served by a deliciously camp film directed by Tanu Muino and produced by UnderWonder Content, with glitzy production design by Tyler Evans

The promo presents the pair as raunchy regal Grecian goddesses confronting the “shit on the internet” and those who are “spending all their time tryin’ to break a woman down,” when there are “realer” things going on.

Sadly that message doesn’t seem to have got through, the single and video’s release have provoked more fat-phobic and racist reactions by online haters. Lizzo took to Instagram Live and tearfully revealed, “people say s*** about me that doesn’t even make sense – if you don’t like my music cool, if you don’t like Rumors the song, cool, but a lot of people don’t like me because of the way I look.”
