“It is a case of banking your voice, until your breath runs out,” the heartrending words of one the MND sufferers featured in this poignant video, I Will Always Be Me, directed by Simon Frost, through Borderland.
The film is part of a worthwhile project, created by VMLY&R in partnership with the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Rolls-Royce, that sees the creation of a book that banks the voices of those who'll lose their speech as the terminal disease progresses.
A neurodegenerative condition that deteriorates muscular nerve cells, MND ultimately takes away a person’s ability to speak. By integrating voice banking technology with the difficult task of explaining MND to loved ones, the project simplifies and humanises the experience and encourages individuals to take action earlier in their diagnosis.
