In this fun collaboration with creative animation and illustration studio All-in-Pixel, production company BOL and director Ibran Trassierra have transformed iconic artwork into opening animations for retro video games.
Pushing the boundaries of the possibilities of pixel art, the film sees the world’s most famous historical paintings, sculptures and architecture reimagined as 80s inspired video game intros, paired with wonderfully nostalgic 16-bit music.
Bridging past and future in a creative and intriguing way, the animations are littered with hidden easter eggs hinting at facts discovered by the production company during their research, such as the lightening strike behind Michelangelo’s David.
