What are the holidays for, if not indulging in those warm, fuzzy feelings you can’t find at any other time of year?
Going all-out on the festive feel-good factor is tech company Apple, with its heartwarming Christmas campaign created by TBWA\Media Arts Lab, titled Fuzzy Feelings.
Lovingly brought to life by Hungry Man director Lucia Aniello, and Passion Pictures’ animation director Anna Mantzaris, the gorgeously-crafted film weaves stop-motion scenes into live-action footage with stop-motion to tell the story of a lonely creative who forms an unlikely friendship.
An unfulfilled office worker by day and aspiring animator by night, the protagonist uses her creative practice as an emotional outlet for her disdain towards her boss.
Soundtracked by George Harrison's track, Isn't It a Pity, the spot switches between her depressing day job and a whimsical stop-motion world - shot on her iPhone 15 Pro Max, and edited on a 5-inch MacBook Air - in which she puts a felt model of her boss through an array of increasingly painful predicaments.
However, through her animations and real-life observations, she can’t help but notice his softer side, which culminates in a moving offer of friendship.
