With wonderfully animated characters and beautiful patterns in white and green, My Name is Muundo makes a bold statement.
Yemi Alade, a Grammy Award-winning Nigerian singer, narrates the film. As the patterns spread across dark skin, they move like fabric, imitating the clothing designs present in Nigerian fashion. The art, created by internationally renowned illustrator, Láolú Senbanjo, moves fluidly across hands, eyes, wheels, busses, and the world.
With stark contrasts and rhythmic energy within the film, director Alton has created an engaging and uplifting moment. Agency dentsu worked with award-winning animation studio Lobo on the film. The team animated Sebanjo's patchworks and applied them as textures into 3D models.
