AMP Launches "Muse to Music" Event to Highlight Up and Coming Talent
The Association of Music Producers is launching a new initiative designed to highlight up and coming music talents in the ad industry. The effort will kick off on March 21 in New York with a live music event that takes place at Le Poisson Rouge in Greenwich Village.
According to AMP National President Liz Myers of Trivers Myers Music in El Segundo, CA, this is going to be an inaugural event that the Association of Music Producers is hosting as a fundraiser to support the effort. All entertainment is being provided by AMP members and their respective protégés.
The concert begins with UK indie-edge singer/songwriter Senadee, followed by a performance by the Brooklyn dream/pop band DEDE. The headlining act is a consortium of AMP composers called the AMP Composer Project. As part of this, eight composers will create new compositions based on non-advertising inspiration provided from top creative directors from BBDO, Grey Advertising and Strawberry Frog. David Lubars, Tor Myhren and Jason Koxvold are contributing muse prompts in the form of lyrics, prose, poetry and photography. The AMP Composer Project will introduce eight World Premieres of new compositions that score these long form ideas.
"The evening is all about the fresh talent and original music," says Myers. Tickets are $40 for AMP members and $50 for nonmembers; to order tickets, and for more information, click here. For more info on the AMP, go to www.ampnow.com.
