Highlighting the shocking truth that the right to safe and legal abortion is no longer protected by the Constitution after Roe v. Wade has been overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, Amnesty International's powerful new abortion campaign challenges the country's claim of 'freedom'.
Following four different women and girls of varied circumstances, each facing the consequence of strict abortion laws, The Land of the Unfree lays bare the contradiction between the stripping of rights and the lyrical content of the country's national anthem, The Star Spangled Banner, here performed by award-winning Norwegian artist Emilie Nicolas.
Directed by Nicolina Knapp and produced by B-Reel Films, the film, created by Norwegian ad agency Anorak, certainly captures the emotional distress of the situation, a feeling echoed by its current trending on TikTok, having received 3.3 million views in the first 48 hours.
