Directed by Jordan Bahat, Cowboy is a promo full of production quirks that add to the singer’s down-home country charm.

A B-Movie bonanza, Allison Pontheir’s Cowboy is high-camp and low-octane, presenting the work of absurdity in easily understandable imagery and evenly-paced narration. The film plays with artifice and construction, not bothering to hide details of production. With strange settings and bizarre aliens, Pontheir’s imagery is in a genre all its own.

With appearances and winks to eccentrics of the 80s and 90s like Elvira and Vincent Price, Bahat expertly mixes iconography and pop culture nods. The handcrafted sets were designed by Liam More, and the mostly in-camera effects were capture by cinematographer Mike Gioulakis. Cowboy was produced by Golden.
