Director Pete Riski’s latest film is for global word game, Alias, but has no discernible dialogue.
The film was shot earlier this month in Riski's native Finland (also from where the game originates) through Director’s Guild Helsinki, and adhered to the regions loosened Covid-19 restrictions. Called The Explainer, the spot is a nod to family lockdown pastimes to which many of us have become all too accustomed.
In the film, a man prepares for his Alias session by rehearsing with strangers across the city. "What could be a better time to promote a board game than during the weird times of lockdown," says Director’s Guild Helsinki EP, Juha-Matti Nieminen."Even though Finland has, production-wise, become 99% like normal, this film was shot at beginning of June 2020 whilst everybody was still in the mood for staying home. So why not stay at home and play with your pals?"
