Artfully directed by Vincent Boehringer through Filmakademie Baden-Wurttemberg, this gorgeously shot short film for mental health charity Active Minds aims to encourage conversations between young people surrounding depression and anxiety.
Titled Shed Some Light, the project intends to raise awareness for people that struggle with mental health issues, but are hesitant to ask for help. Through cinematic, metaphoric imagery of missed moments and the impactful audio of unanswered phone messages, it depicts the unraveling life of a young man grappling with mental health challenges.
Despite growing frustration from those around him, a reconciliatory moment occurs when the protagonist seeks personal connection, leading to a poignant encounter that offers hope and affection amidst the darkness.
