If asked who the next mascot for an Aussie-based airline should be, you probably wouldn't immediately think of a errant, freedom-loving wig.
Nevertheless, think of it DDB Sydney did and, as the lovely (and perfectly punny) Up, Up and Toupee goes to show, its soaring adventures are a sight to behold.
Brought to life by Revolver/Will O’Rourke’s Gary Freedman and Moving Picture Company, the spot sees the heroic hairpiece spring loose from its owner's bonce, in order to float and flap its way around the sights of the country.
DDB Sydney Chief Creative Officer Tara Ford says: “In a complicated world, it’s been an absolute pleasure to create something that’s so unique, simple and joyful. Fun but with an edge of cheekiness and irreverence – which is perfect for recapturing and igniting the Virgin Australia brand”.
