Living in lockdown has certainly upped loneliness levels for a lot of people, but for those suffering with depression, COVID-19 isn't the sole cause.
About, and shot in, isolation, The Reality sees Greenroom Films director Michael J Ferns and producer/writer Lucy Ball explore snapshots of a life devoid of vigor.
Shot remotely with a DP, a small but well formed production and post production team and, in their own words, "using our limited resources", Ferns and Ball's film is both a sobering glimpse at depression and an impressive creative project.
Not made with a charity/brand in mind - the filmmakers instead choosing to make it available to all, to use and share as they see fit - this bite of reality is a weighty one.
