Agency NeilADawson.com creates furniture brand ads that showcase no furniture whatsoever.
This highly original ad campaign created by Neil Dawson and Clive Pickering is the first ever for Vintagefrench.com, a high-quality antique furniture exporter that sources premium pieces from central France.
Reminiscent of the Frank Budgen-directed Stella Artois spot Le Sacrifice, made in the style of 1920s European surreal film, this is a perfect fit for the brand: it’s vintage – being shot in a monochrome, early silent movie style; classy (Mon dieu! How vulgar to actually reveal the products one is advertising) and oh-so-French – displaying a charming, sophisticated wit with a hint of eccentricity.
Neil Dawson and Clive Pickering were tasked with a single goal of enticing traffic to the website to view the pieces the mime artist is saucily ‘implying’. After exclaiming his glee at the gorgeous pieces of invisible furniture, a simple title and price is revealed – Larch Wood Storage Chest, £825.00 and so on, enticing the viewer to log on and have a look at the actual piece.
The video ads will launch 12 Sep with a print campaign following later in the year.
