What better way to hammer home the fact that Malaria can be prevented than by getting David Beckham to star in a campaign for Malaria No More charity?
R/GA is behind this effective spot featuring the former footballer trapped inside a glass box. In the spot, the glass acts as a form of protection for David as a swarm of Malaria-carrying mozzies surround it.
Director Baillie Walsh does a good job of creating a slightly itchy and suffocating sensation by focusing on David's increasing anxiety as the mosquitos cloud the transparent glass.
David has supported malaris prevention for 15 years in his role as the charity's UK Leadership Council Member and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
"As the mosquito film shows, these insects are annoying in places likes the UK but in many parts of the world, a mosquito bite is terrifying and deadly, leading to malaria and the loss of a child’s life every two minutes," says David. This is totally unacceptable, especially when we know how to prevent and cure it. That’s why I’m standing with the millions who live with this threat every day. I urge Commonwealth leaders to be ready to take bold action when they meet in London in April and to unite to stop this disease in its tracks.”
