What’s the best ad campaign you’ve seen recently?

Gucci’s Pre-Fall 2017 campaign shot by Glen Luchford. Purely for emotional reasons – it’s all a bit grim right now and this just makes me smile and feel good…Oh and I’m coveting the outfits and moves.

What website(s) do you use most regularly and why?

Sheerluxe.com. It's fashion, health, beauty with a succinct daily news brief.

What’s the most recent piece of tech that you’ve bought and why?

Not my bag really, I prefer shoes. Does a magnetic car phone holder count?

What’s your favoured social media platform?

I’m in between relationships right now. It used to be Instagram until it went all a bit Big Brother. I have a love/hate relationship with Facebook and Twitter…ugggh…Twitter, symptomatic of our times, everyone is talking (largely about themselves) and no one is listening.

What’s your favourite app on your phone?

Spotify.

What’s your favourite TV show and why?

Fargo series one and two (I’ve not had the chance to see three yet). Everything about it is sublime; the script, direction, photography, casting, performance, art direction etc. etc. And what a soundtrack! Each episode feels like a feature in its own right.

What film do you think everyone should have seen and why?

Blue is the Warmest Colour. Staggering performances and just so beautiful. Evocative, moving, sometimes brutal and it challenges the Hollywood storytelling norms.

Oh, and A Bigger Splash, or at the very least this scene…  (I’m spotting a theme here).

Where were you when inspiration last struck?

When practicing yoga, that’s usually where it strikes. Either that or when I’m reading.

What’s the most significant change you’ve witnessed in the industry since you started working in it?

The breaking down of certain barriers between client, agency and production. This can be great in terms of working together collaboratively - ideas can and should come from anywhere and we shouldn’t be putting ourselves on pedestals - but it can also be pretty damaging to the craft of what we do. We should collectively respect each other’s different areas of expertise. Democratisation should not lead to an end to meritocracy.

If there was one thing you could change about the advertising industry, what would it be?

Equality of opportunity. We have a very long way to go.

What or who has most influenced your career and why?

Goodness that’s hard. I’ve been blessed with so many brilliant people both from my life in agencies and here at Rattling Stick. Overall though, it would have to be my dad. He taught me the importance of a work ethic. That if you want something you should go for it and if you persevere, you’ll get there. Oh and to work on my diplomacy skills.

Tell us one thing about yourself that most people won’t know.

[Pro skateboarder] Korahn Gayle [below] said I do a good ollie (no,I didn’t know who he was either…).
