As part of its 'My Black is Beautiful' campaign out of BBDO New York, P&G urges us all to talk about racial bias in a bid to end it for good.
The thought-provoking spot, helmed by Malik Vitthal via The Corner Shop, chronicles a series of conversations between mothers and their children over the decades, highlighting the discrimination faced by people of colour from a depressingly early age. One mum consoles her daughter who's been told "you're beautiful... for a black girl"; another reminds a son to carry his ID in case he's stopped by the police. The spot closes with a call to 'talk about the talk... so we can end the need to have it'.
