Last month alone, US tech companies announced more than 50,000 layoffs, with the upheaval also spreading into other sectors.
Factor in growing stress, pandemic-borne complications and rising dissatisfaction with employer policies, and ZenBusiness came to one conclusion; work is broken. If that's the case, then Welcome to the Uprising, the company's new campaign, aims to help people start, run and grow their own businesses from the ground up.
Created by JOAN New York and directed by Bradley & Pablo through PRETTYBIRD, the 60-second spot features an office worker who suddenly has an epiphany. To the soundtrack of Seize the Power, by Yonaka, she makes a copy of her face and then makes a break for it – overturning shelves, breaking computers, gorging on catered sandwiches from the company fridge, crashing through the office wall of the boss and finally storming out the front door.
“We're talking to the people who suspect something may be rotten with the state of corporations,” said Jaime Robinson, Co-Founder & Chief Creative Officer at JOAN. “So, we asked those annoying little questions that stick in your heads for days. The ones that keep you up at night... until you carve a new path forward."
